How to link a gallery from a text field?

    I have created several custom field tags for each image containing fields such as Author, Publisher, Title, etc. and I can display them as required using the Attach NextGen Gallery button.

    I’m now trying to provide the end user with the ability to select all the images by Author, by Publisher, etc. as per the following example:

    Click here for images from Author A;
    Click here for images from Author B;
    Click here for images from Author C; etc

    Click here for images from Publisher X;
    Click here for images from Publisher Y;

    etc for all Authors, Publishers, etc.

    However whilst I can successfully use the NextGen Gallery button to create all the galleries I need, all the images from all galleries are displayed on the one post page.

    How can I link the created gallery details to just a text string like that above so that the end user gets the thumbnails just for the option they select with no images being displayed except for their desired selection?

    I have experimented using shortcodes in the WordPress editor text option but without any success.

    Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    @eon123 – I would suggest creating each “results” gallery you need and inserting it on its own page (you could also use a post but I believe using a page would likely suit what I am understanding here).

    From here, get the URL for the specific gallery page and use that with your text link’s anchor tag. We do not have any specific built-in methods that would do this currently.
