How to link Photo Gallery to a customer image

To begin this setup, navigate to?Photo Gallery > Global Settings?page from WordPress administrative dashboard of your website.

Image click action?setting of?General tab in Photo Gallery options has the option Redirect to URL that allows you to set?links on thumbnails?and redirect visitors to another page upon clicking on them. To use this you need to select it and then set up redirection URLs for your gallery images

Please let me know if it is the functionality you are looking for

thanks for your answer!
May be this a misunderstanding? I know the procedure you have described, but this is not what I am looking for.
The question ist not about clicking on a thumbnail image to link to some other picture.

The feature we need should work like that:
The artist’s site shows for example 10 (or much more) pictures which are layouted in a special way.
There is also a gallery created with these pictures (small thumbnails), displayed on the bottom of the side, just for additional navigation. The user has to scroll down to see this bar – which might be annoying when a site showcases a lot of individually placed pictures.
Now, when the user clicks on one of the large pictures (not on the thumbnails!) he should be directed to the specific gallery item in lightbox view.
The effect should be the same as if clicking on the thumbnail image – but here the lightbox is triggered by clicking the individuell large picture.

By the way, the task is to move this artist’s site from an existing old blogspot.com presentation. In blogspot this is a common feature, you can publish images and via click the user can trigger a lightbox show with filmstrips very easy.
