How to link to files on the network from intranet?

  • We have a LAN based Intranet. Up until several months ago we were able to link to files on our local servers from within our WordPress site. This allowed us to update files on the servers without having to upload files constantly when changes were made. An example of a link that previously worked was: a href=”\Hourly Rates\BOKA Powell Standard Hourly Rates 2011.doc”>Standard Hourly Rates</a
    ( Left off < so link would display.)

    Any ideas on how to continue to access files on our servers from our WordPress Intranet site?

  • Do you mean it doesnt work now? Why?
    Links like <a href="\\server\folder"> should work in brouser if your computer is within some local network. It’s matter of network configuration not WordPress.
