• I have managed to create and submit my data feed to Google. All is working correctly, apart from my products with attributes. I can’t get these to display the product only, without attributes.

I have a few products with the “size” attribute. I only want these to show on the feed as a default product, without any size attributes.

When I select “Include product variations” on the data feed settings in the plugin, the feed displays all size variations of the product, such as Dress 1 size 1; Dress 1 size 2 etc. I only want to display it as “Dress 1”.

When I then check the “And only include default product variation” option, it then does not display any of these products with the variations at all in the data feed.

How can I submit my products with variations as only the default product, without any variations to my data feed please?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

You would like to have the parent variable products in your feed. This however, is not allowed by most marketing channels such as Google and Facebook. They will disapprove those products.

We have explained in this blog post:
    https://adtribes.io/can-i-add-mother-products-to-my-feed-and-leave-out-the-variations/

    Hope this makes sense?

    Hi
Yes I already saw that post and the post about listing the product only with the default variable. I understand that for variations like colour, there should be separate listings for these. But It doesn’t make sense or look visually nice to have separate listings for the size variation.

There should be a way around this. I transferred my store from Opencart and there were no such issue on their feed- my products with variations were listed on Google as a single product, and the product/feed was not banned.

If I list the product with only the default variation, then this is misleading for the customer and the customer will not click on the product, thinking that only one size is available in that product. But this seems to be the only way to list the product as a single product using your plugin. Customers do not search by size.

Do you have any plans to make a workaround for this issue, just for selected variations like size? I am sure you are getting lots of enquiries about this issue!

    Thanks

    Hi,

You are actually the first one requesting such a feature. We can add it to our users-wish-list but we typically only look into those when we get lots of requests to add such a feature so unfortunately I doubt this will be added in the near future.
