• Hey all,

I have a question, I am looking for a WP template but most of them are so fancy and too much for what I want and need. I need a simple site where the blogs are all displayed on the homepage. Most templates have a blog page as well as a homepage.
My question is, how hard is to make a blog page on a template my homepage on my WP site? I don’t need a fancy slider, this is a business site used for our Community.

    Thanks,
    Jon

  • What do you need exactly ?
The homepage should show your latest posts ?
If so, the default twentyten or twentyeleven will be just fine.

The homepage should be a static page ?
This is an option you can find under Settings > Reading in your admin panel

What I need is, to take a template and make the blog page of that template the homepage of my website. I don’t want to user the twentyten or twentyeleven template.

Most templates have a blog page as well as a homepage.

I think you’ll find that this isn’t the case. There are plenty of themes of the type you describe in https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/

I don’t like those templates, I want something a bit nicer than those are. I just need to know how to take a template and use the blog page as my homepage.

Then use Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven and ensure that your front page is set to your latest posts in Settings -> Reading.

Thing is, I want a better looking site than those templates.

jrp this is my site Titan Design. I’ve been learning about template design in WordPress for the last 3 weeks and with a little help from various places came up with the design and layout.

It’s a really simple design, very few actual images, most of the work is done by the cascade, if you want a copy of it for yourself to practice with let me know.
