How to make an update page

I love Spacious, it’s the ideal theme and I’m sticking with it for our website. The problem is, I want to make an ‘Updates/Latest News’ page that’s not on the default ‘Home’ page. I’ve tried doing the ‘Home Page’ and ‘Post Page’ thing in the customizer but it doesn’t work how I’d like. 1) The home page is not an actual page, it doesn’t show up in the list of pages when I want to select a home page. 2) When I do make a page called Home, I then have two Home pages linked to each other. I hope I said all this easily for you to understand. I just want a separate page for news and general blogging without it interfering with the home page.
