• I installed a media organiser so I could make a better looking gallery, and unfortunately for whatever reason it decided it would make the images link to a sub page with the image details instead of the high res of the picture itself.

    https://ozformula.com/2011/button-comes-back-from-last-position-to-win-the-canadian-gp/

Click on a picture to see what i mean.

I uninstalled the plugin, however they still go to the ‘page’ and not directly to the image as I would prefer.

How do I fix this? =)

Thanks HEAPS for any help, i’m still new to all of this stuff.

You can specify where the gallery thumbnails will link to with variations on the gallery shortcode.

Pardon my ignorance, but were do I go to edit the “Gallery_Shortcode”

I looked through the themes editor option and there is no file that I can see which includes that? =)

You do not need to touch the theme editor right now, and I suggest that you really shouldn’t be looking there at all until you know more about WordPress.

On the actual page where you want to display the thumbnails, that is where you place the gallery shortcode and configure it to display what you want. Works best in HTML view of the editing panel.

Tailoring the shortcode on a page-by-page basis allows you to display different galleries in different ways on different pages.

So for instance if that is the HTML which inserts the image, in which area would I insert the ‘file’ tag?

Also this is rather irritating because when I first installed the wordpress it automatically linked to the High res file as the default option, but now the plug in has somehow changed that and need manual editing?

    I actually worked it out!

When you are inserting the image, just click “image” down the bottom of the link to option. This will link to the image not the generated page for that image.
