How to make file writable?

  • When I try to edit the theme files, it shows a line like “If this file was writable you could edit it.”How to make it writable?
    and another question. if I have a really long post and I don’t want to post it all in the main page, like only a part of it and a link: read further, the links directs you to the rest of the post, how to do this?
