    How to make home page most recent post of a particular category.

    Is this something I can do in the dashboard or do I have to add/change code in the theme PHP files.

    Sorry. I’m a complete noob when it comes to wordpress.

  • That is not an option that WordPress provides.
    If you choose to show Latest Posts on your home page, it will be shown regardless of category. You can use the ‘sticky’ property to show particular posts first, but it is a manual effort to change which one is sticky and which is not.
    You could use a function to filter the query, and have it sort by date and category, or you can make a home.php template file that adjusts what is shown.

    Joy, fine. That is why I am asking here for a solution

    What would be the PHP for posting by category and/or post type? I also would like to have links at the bottom of a single post or page that allows one click to go previous post or page of the current post or pages category or type.

    I don’t think this is a native function in WordPress but something I could add to my theme.
