How to make PHP and/or Shortcode work in theme

  • I really like this theme but I am having a small problem. No shortcode or PHP code works in posts, pages etc. Adsense code does not work either. I have tried EXEC-PHP plugins and a couple of others with no luck.

    Is there something I may be doing wrong or does this theme not support what I am trying to do?

    This is a fresh install and other themes work fine such as the standard WP twenty eleven. Thanks so much
