How to make post image transparent against feature image

Hi all,

The default view of Lovecraft sees post content partially overlay (or cut into) the featured image, but when you view a list of posts by category or tag the overlay area, where the post or image intersect with the featured image, is partially transparent.

Just wondered if anyone had come across a way of making this the default behaviour for the whole site.

What I would ideally like is that when I go to my home page,m the top of the most recent post, which is generally the featured image for that post, would be transparent in the area that it overlays the home page featured image.

Not sure if I have explained this that clearly, but if my question makes sense to you, and you have any ideas on how this might be achieved I’d be interested in hearing from you.
