• Can anyone tell me how to make a site like https://www.askdavetaylor.com where someone asks a question and I answer and it creates a post from the two?

I guess I could just have a contact form and copy and paste but there must be some way of implementing this to make it easier. Maybe a theme or plugin I don’t know about? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Peter for the info. I have actually come across that plugin but it’s not quite what I’m looking for. Please take a look at https://www.askdavetaylor.com to see what I’m trying to duplicate. Ideally, each question and answer would be included within its own post/page.

    Thanks again!

I don’t think you’ll find an integrated work flow where you could reply to a question and have it all turned into a post.

You could use a contact me plugin and customize the form. You would get an e-mail and could then incorporate the e-mail into a posting. Setup post by e-mail (I never tried) and you may be able to get it flowing better by e-mailing the whole thing to the address that retrieves the posts.

I suggest you just cut and paste the question e-mail into your blog editor and post it that way.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. I guess that’s the way to go for now, at least until the volume of questions becomes large: it would be difficult to do it manually then. I know Dave Taylor has it integrated but he uses Movable Type. It might involve a hack.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise I’ll just do it by a contact form.

Why not just ask Dave Taylor how he does it?

Hi there. Sam’s right, why not just ask me? ??

As Shimon points out, I use Movable Type rather than WP for my blog, but basically I have *two* entry boxes for my blog entries, the first formatted as the question, the second as the answer. In MT that’s an “Entry” and an “Extended Entry” and there’s no hacking involved, just a different way of using the tool…

    Man, you gotta’ love trackbacks…

Hi Dave, do you know how to do it with WordPress?

Actually, I was going to ask you on your site how to do it but I already asked a seo question two weeks ago and didn’t get answered so I figured you had many questions to deal with at the time. I’m not angry, don’t worry ??

so how is it done with WordPress? the email solution is good till the volume grows…
