How to make slider image full width and change the height

Hi,
somewhere I’ve read to upload an image of 1170x500px for the slider to have it full width (and not so high). I’v done so, but it’s not full width and the height is too high.

I would like to display it like https://annarootjes.nl/annarootjes.nl/. Can someone help me out please?
