I am about to provide access to a 3rd party developer to look into my live production site for a few reasons.

I stumbled upon your WP Activity Log free plugin page and wanted to better understand if there was a way to activate it so I can see any sort of suspicious activity that the 3rd party developer may be doing while he’s looking into my site.

In giving access to the developer, I need to grant him “admin” privileges to the site as well as the ftp server.

How can I activate your plugin where I have full access to it as an “admin”, but the developer can’t see it as an “admin”?

    UPDATE:
I came back to this post and now edited it..I actually now see that I can set myself as the only person who can change the plugin settings AND I can hide the plugin from the list of installed plugins… however, I will also be granting my developer access to the ftp and the plugin folder where he can easily see he plugin. Is this right?

Also, how can i make it so that the “Files Monitor” plugin is also hidden by anyone else but me?

    thank you,
    Matt

    Hello @merosler

Thank you very much trying our plugins. To answer your questions:

    1) Indeed, if you give the developer access to the website’s files, then they will still be able to see the plugin folder. I’m afraid there is no way around this, it’s the way WordPress works.

    2) At the moment it is not possible to restrict the Website File Changes Monitor plugin UI, however, we will add this to our features request list.

I hope the above helps. Should you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Have a great day and thank you for using our plugins.
