  • You don’t rename “files”… you move your WP install from the root to the directory of your choice.
    See Moving_WordPress.

If you are wanting to create a new folder you do not rename anything, you simply use something along the lines of ‘Create new folder’ or ‘Create directory’ or mkdir in Shell.

If you have a directory you wish to make a sub-directory create a directory, and then move it (in lots of FTP software you just drag it).

    I hope I’ve helped!

And if you are wishing to move WordPress use the above link ??

or mkdir in Shell… and I hope I’ve helped! – don’t really go together.

For someone who doesn’t know how to do a simple task like moving WP into a directory, all this is “geek-talk”. Sorry. For us Shell is a gas station on the corner…

All the help is welcomed in this forum, just leave the geek mentality at the door ?? You are supporting average, non-technical users!

LOL. Sorry, I’m new here – just trying to help.
