• I am using the startupwp theme on wordpress 4.1.

I have a security certificate on my site and use an https plugin to force ssl on the page and all of it’s elements.

But no matter what I do, the search from in the navigation bar is not secure.

I’ve been searching google for a long time. I cannot find a solution.

How do I make that little site search form secure so that my visitors don’t get a message from Chrome saying the site contains insecure elements?

I’ve learned a lot since posting this question.

I’m pretty sure the problem is not the theme, but the https plugin that I am using.

I had an option checked to force all sites that were NOT set to ssl to only use http (instead of https).

That was forcing the search form to use a url without the https and thus the warning from Google Chrome that some elements were insecure.

So I posted the question in the https plugin area.

Somehow I need to both force non ssl pages to http while letting that one item – the search form – use https.

Haven’t figured it out yet, but it doesn’t appear to be the theme.

    Hey Tara (and everybody).

Yes, I have sought help in those forums.

In the meantime, if anybody stops by this thread and knows a solution regardless of whether or not it involves this plugin I am interested to hear that solution.
