How to make words “Latest News” go away from front page.

I just installed a new theme and everything except for one thing. In the middle of the logo, it says “latest news”. The FAQ of the theme said to make a static page to make that go away, but when I did that, it got really messed up and didn’t show any of my posts, just links to my podcast.
I have sent an email to the support of the theme, but my site is currently down and I really need to get it up and running asap.
Does anyone know how to make the words “Latest News” go away? I can’t find any setting or page or anything that points to that. Below is a screenshot of what it looks like (ignore the logo, I need to resize it).
