How to make your own header

  • Hi guys,

    with your curiosity and answers i was able to make a quite good looking site. Now i can’t seem to find the answer i’m looking for. I already transformed original header but i’m still not satisfied with how it looks.

    Now I would like to create entire new head. I need logo on top and simplistic menu look.

    Which files must be changed and where can i start adding divs to create my own header?

    Thanks again for all your questions and answers. This is a great community and i’m amazed to see all possible question(almost ?? ) already answered.

  • If you work through this Snippet carefully, you’ll end up with a Header containing centered items:
    – Logo
    – Social Icons
    – Tagline
    – Navbar

    You can then hide the Social Icons & Tagline and end up with a centered Logo and centered Navbar.

    That’s the simpler solution without having to restructure.

    If you want more, you need to explain what you want.

    It’s not enough-site doesn’t look professional.

    I redid the header but the main problem is the logo, which has 20 characters and can’t be made in two rows.

    The best option is to have 5 menu items from left to right centered in width of main wrapper(body).
    The header would look like the itunes.com just with logo on the top.

    Link to site would help visualize what you’re doing.

    Menu bar was changed back to 0px margins.

    The site is on localhost for now.

    OK, I get it.

    Coincidentally, I’m currently writing a new Guide on customizing the Navbar. I’ve already written something on shading Menu items. But I can use your iTunes example as I proceed as I’ve seen that requested before.

    It will take a few days yet before it’s ready to publish. It’s quite a complex subject believe it or not.

    Definitely it is. Changing menu bar in height, width, background and margins is nothing compared to editing whole header. This is in my oppinion the last thing that customizr needs-option to correct whole header(which is not quite good looking*sry).
