• Hi there, I’d like to change the way the 16×16 looks manually through photoshop after the bulk generation. The port from 270 to 16 didn’t go so well and I just want to touch up the icon a bit. I’ve found in my uploads/fbrfg/ folder the icons, but when I update one it seems to not do anything. I then assumed it was caching, but nope didn’t seem to update. I’m guessing theres another storage location for the icons? Please let me know how to edit them! It would make this plugin even better.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

You have found the right place: icons are in uploads/fbrfg/, and replacing the 16×16 icon is the way to go. Caching is a classic issue when updating a favicon, but you already checked this. So it must be something else.

The most likely scenario: your browser is picking the 32×32 icon instead of the 16×16. A way to check this is to run the compatibility test (https://realfavicongenerator.net/favicon_compatibility_test). You don’t need to submit anything, simply click “Start the text” and on the next page, compare the actual favicon of the page and the icons listed in the page. Which one is displayed? The green-and-yellow 16×16 of the pink-and-violet 32×32? Another one? You get the idea.

And about a cool way of replacing the 16×16 icon: you are right, this should be possible. A long due feature! ??

    Regards,
    Philippe
