• So my question is such: is there any way to be able to chose how a post is displayed on a home page on a per-article basis (excerpt vs. full post)?

What I’m hoping to achieve is a typical blog home page with a list of articles with the standard stuff: featured image, title, and excerpt with a read more button… BUT In case that a particular post is very important (and would fit nicely on the home blog page), I would like to be able to override it being truncated, and display the whole article on that home page amongst the excerpts.

Does anybody know of a way to be able to do this, or know of a plugin that would let me achieve something similar?

Thanks in advance, please let me know if I can help clarify!

I’m thinking maybe I can perhaps assign a post which I want to display as ‘full’ it’s own category?

Depends on the theme you are using – some have that option.

Not included in the theme I’m using, I’d like to be able to know how to do it myself, maybe it’s too much of a hassle though…

I’m going to try to dig into it by assigning a full-post type of category

    Hi lawlessmjl,

Not sure whether this would fulfill your needs, you can create a custom field on the homepage using the Advanced Custom Field plugin and then use the Post Object field to post a particular Post filtered by taxonomy.
