• Hi,
I am making a website for a client, and I would like to remove specific dashboard widgets, so that when the client logs in as an editor, they have a clean and clear dashboard with only the necessary widgets in front of them.

I have tried to do this with help of a plugin (adminimize), but one of the menu items won’t show when I use it (Events calendar).

The only things the client wish to do is to publish new posts and new events in the calendar.

I don’t like to use too many plugins as they are a hassle to continuously update, and I feel the make loading times slower.

Can anyone please help me out?

I would be forever thankful ??

PS. it is important that I as the administrator can access the menu items..

  • You could probably log into that editor’s account yourself and remove any unwanted widgets. Those preferences should be saved when the user then logs in.

I had a similar scenario where someone wanted to just submit posts without the complicated WordPress interface. I ended up using Gravity Forms to create a simple form that could be filled out without any sort of user account, login, or administration. You can see something similar here:

Data inputted into that form is stored directly as a WordPress post that is saved as “pending” status until I can approve it.

    That’s a nice solution you’ve got there.

But my client wants to be able to log in and submit things.

What I am looking for is some code/script that removes the widgets/menus when someone loges in as editor..

But thank you very much, It will probably come in handy in some other project ??
