I am a newbie and an old guy to boot so all I can do is read and hopefully learn.

Somewhere in the documentation I found that I had to create a directory in the WP Dashboard for my ‘Child’ theme. Only problem is I haven’t figured out how to add a directory. So any responses to nadiadsz should be helpful to me also.

I just solved it, in the category widget you have to tick hierarchy.
bjohnson8537 i think you are talking about child themes, right?

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, I am talking about themes, in particular the Cannyon theme. Unfortunately, although I have found several “Category” lines (is each of those a Widget?) I have not found any that includes “hierarchy.” The one that I assume is most appropriate is Appearance/Widgets/Categories but there is nothing about Hierarchies.

Still lost but I have a good supply of pretzels and beer to keep me going!
