• Hi,

we are using your plugin to create two feeds for google to add our virtual products to google shopping:

    Feeds we are using:
    1) Google Shopping
    2) Google Product Review

For standard products google is showing the average rating of our products in google shopping. This is working perfect.

But for products with different variations reviews are unfortunately not visible in google shopping. Google shopping presents the parent product, but no reviews.

Is there any possibility to configure the two feeds to ensure google can match reviews of variable products to the parent product? Or is this possible in paid version of the plugin?

    Settings for Google Shopping Feed:
    – Country: Germany
    – Channel: Google Shopping
    – Include all product variations: Yes
    – Only include default variation: no
    – Only include lowest price product variation: no
    – File format: XML

Settings for Google Product Review feed:
    – Country: Germany
    – Channel: Google Product Review
    – Include all product variations: Yes
    – Only include default variation: no
    – Only include lowest price product variation: no
    – File format: XML

    Thanks in advance,
    Andreas

  • Hi Andreas,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

The Google Shopping feed does not contain parent variable products as Google doesn’t allow so, please see: https://adtribes.io/can-i-add-mother-products-to-my-feed-and-leave-out-the-variations/, so the shopping feed only contains product variations. The same goes for your product review feed, this should only contain reviews attached to the variations and not to the parent products so therefor they really should match.

Did you check your review feed already for the product ID of product variations and if those are in?

    Hi,

thanks for the quick answer. Yes, it looks like both my product and my review feed only contain variations and not the parent product. So this should be fine.

Yes, I have checked the XML content of both feeds. In my point of view the product ID (MPN) should match in both streams. Have a look at example entries of my two feeds shown below. We are selling self created virtual products, so we do not have a gtin. But we of course have set a MPN and a brand. Could it be a problem that we have set MPN to same value as SKU?

Google matches Google Shopping feeds and review feeds either on GTIN or on MPN. In your case Google really should match the reviews on MPN however perhaps they are getting confused because you also added a SKU to your review feed that has the exact same value as the MPN field. So perhaps you should try removing the SKU from your review feed (bit of a long shot though).

    Hi,

thanks a lot for the help. We have adopted our review feed to exclude SKU 3 days ago. It seems to take a few days until google is updating the results.
We will keep you updated if the SKU field was causing the issues or not.

Thanks again for the very fast response for not yet paying customers, we really appreciate this ??

    Hi again,

sorry for not answering for about 2 weeks. We had the feeling, that google shopping did not update any of our products for quite some time (so amount of reviews per product did not increment after new reviews where added), therefore I was not able to tell if removing SKU fixed the problem or not.

But unfortunately till today our products with variations still do not have any rating shown in google shopping, while others did in the meantime get updated ratings.

Below again the same example entry from our review feed now without SKU. As reviews are added in woocommerce for the product and not for each variation, the identical review below is shown for three different MPNs in our feed (matching the three variations of the product). I guess this is normal, but just wanted to double check with you
