• At the moment I have three different wordpress blogs in two different MySQL-databases at two different servers for various reasons. Is there a way to merge these into one?

I have tried searching but I can’t seem to find an answer for this. If there is please point me to any relevant support pages.

  • As far as I know, the import-mt.php closes all comments on import.

That’s a bummer about the double posting. I didn’t have any trouble. I wonder, if there was something messing with the pattern, you know, of ——– lines between entries?

I didn’t have any troubles with categories either. I wonder what went wrong. Hmpf.

After I cleaned up my posts I realized I was probably the cause. I had manually recreated some posts previously so the name, date-stamp and even the comments were the same. Openning the comments was easy enough since I didn’t have too many posts but older ones are less likely to get new comments anyway. My other problem was that the users ranged from () to administrator to archshrk. I didn’t catch the importance of changing that during the import but easily found the fix using “search” (did require running a SQL command)

The WPexport plugin didn’t work for me. In fact it broke my WP 1.5.2 installs in some way that I wasn’t able to figure out.

Does anyone else have any ideas about how to combine three WordPress databases into one?

I’m still stuck with this guys. I’ve tried two different exporting plugins but have had no success with either one. The only reason I want to export is so that I can import the results into another wordpress blog. Trying to combine three databases into one was just too unwieldy for me.

Surely there are people out there who’ve wanted to export their wordpress for whatever reason!

Ugh. I need to do this soon. That’s why I’m here. I’m going to cross my fingers and hope the export/import will work. I’ll post my results either way, some time early in the new year.

leilers – what broke, or what was the end result?
