• I know how to migrate from SU to MU, but I’m having issues going the other way around. It brought in all of the users and plugins but no actual content. Help please.

  • 1. Tools->Export at MU site
    2. Tools->Import->WordPress at SU site using file from step 1.

    I couldn’t export from the MU site as the database wasn’t writable. So I exported from the database control panel and imported into WordPress Su site.

    It pulled in the users and plugins etc. but no pages or posts. Stumped.

    The database being writable (or not) should not affect the Tools->Export.

    Isn’t exporting it from the hosting cpanel the same as exporting from Tools->Export?

    No, export from WordPress Tools->Export exports an XML file with posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags.

    Not sure what cPanel export is unless are talking about an export from phpMyAdmin or MySql.

    Yes, I exported from phpMyAdmin

    OK, just tried an export again and I miss-remembered the problem earlier. It’s not the “not writabale” problem. It exports an empty xml file. Nothing in it at all.

    So MU not exporting correctly…wonder if the the MU Support Forums might have an answer to that?
