I’ve installed the plugin to a few of our client sites recently that previously did not have the plugin installed. The setup is easy and the new UI works great. But I want to upgrade client sites that already had the plugin and it’s still showing the old layout.

I see in the pinned 3.0 thread that you’re working on a migration tool for not losing configuration.

Can we update the old plugins to the new interface? Is there a way to do that without losing configurations?

We are working on a way to migrate users from the old interface to the new interface without affecting their configurations. We will let you know when this has been implemented.

Does that mean there is a way to migrate now? I have a few client sites I would really like to get on the newest interface if at all possible. I uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin and it’s still showing the old interface.

Or if that’s not available, do you have a rough timeline on when this feature will be ready?

    Thanks for your hard work!

    Hi @pinksharpii,

Greetings, we’re delighted to assist you!

It’s true that websites with our legacy version installed will still get the plugin and new updates in the same old user interface. We intend to migrate current users to the new, improved version while retaining the majority of their settings. We are still working on it, but it takes significant development efforts.

We can assist you if you wish to start over with the new revamped version and do not want to maintain the legacy version’s current settings. Please let us know what you require.

Are there steps I can follow to remove certain rows from the database or what do I need to do to remove the old connection?

It’s more simple and i’ve found the answer by myself. To start over (you will loose everything you have done on the old plugin), there’s a reset button in the old plugin:

GDPR COOKIE NOTICE/SETTINGS/ADVANCED and then there’s a button DELETE SETTINGS AND RESET.
As soon as you push that button you’ll be moved to the brand new dashboard.

I’ve already moved to the new system and everything worked fine. You only need to know that the old shortcode (that i used in the footer to show revisit consent and a quick link to the privacy policy) are not working anymore, but they are covered with the build in system (that it’s branded and can be whitelabelled only with the pro version).

    Hope this can help.

    Hi,

You can switch to the new revamped plugin by deleting the setting and resetting the plugin from GDPR Cookie Consent > Settings > Advanced tab. You will be immediately switched to the new revamped plugin.

The old shortcodes have been removed from the plugin. However, the revisit consent is enabled by default in the plugin settings. You can find it in Cookie Banner > Content & Colors > Revisit Consent Button. If you do not need this revisit icon to appear, then turn it off from there.

Rather you can add an HTML element to the page that will bring the banner again and enable users to change their cookie consent. Please follow this article from our documentation to know how to implement this.

Note: Your existing settings will be wiped when you change the plugin interface. Be careful when doing it, then.
