How to move blog-name logo

I’m trying to move the main blog name in the header up and over from its default position which seems to be at left: 120px and top: 21px according to Firebug. I’ve got my #header hacked in a child style.css to be just a slim band at the top (height: 20px) and I’d like the blog-name to sit flush left (padding perhaps 10px from the edge) inside that band. I’ve looked high and low, but #branding and .logo have no positioning info to tell me why they sit over 120px, and I can’t find anything that sets the blog name where it is by default.
