• Hi Guido,

I love this WP plugin . . . except for the fact that I cannot order events by time when they happen on the same day. That’s a total deal breaker for me. I’ve scrolled through the support questions enough to discover this is not a feature.

Is there any ETA on when it might become part of the functionality?

    Hi,

Yes, I understand this can be a deal breaker, besided the lack of an events block.

For a client I’ve changed the time field so it became compatible with the iCal structure. So I know how to change this. But I also need to add backward compatibility, otherwise conflics will occur with current events.

I will take a look at it shortly, and will keep you informed.

    Hi again,

More difficult as expected, especially because I must take backward compatibility into account. Besides this I want a date-time picker for the input fields, but the native jQuery library does not have this. Cannot use third-party code, because of different licence.

What I can do, is adding the menu_order value to each shortcode. So when events have the same date you can set order/priority in your dashboard.

    Hi Guido,

That would work. Are you referring to the Post Attribute ‘Order’ column I see in the design view? I’ve tried using that already without success to order events. It’s not ideal as I would need to be very careful in my ordering of events in case new ones were created but it would solve the issue.

Is this something that might be available as a plugin update in the next month? OR this year?

    Hi,

Although you can already set order between events (via quick edit or the edit screen), it’s not supported yet (so won’t have effect). But this is something I can easily include. I’m testing it right now, because order should stay properly when an upcoming event becomes a past event.
FYI: this ordering will ONLY apply to events that have the same (start) date. So you cannot mess up your whole event list when making a mistake.

    Hi again,

Have updated plugin few moments ago, you can now set custom order for events with the same date.

Thanks Guido. Should I delete and readd the plugin? Or does it update automatically? I should have some time tomorrow to test it out.

Hi, you will receive an (auto) update notification because it has a new version number (11.9).
