    Hi Tobias,
Thank you for the nice plagin. It is very usefull for my web site. I use it to summarise information in form of table. I do it by myself. But now I want to give possibility to common users to add information in created table. How can I organise it? Could you please add this possibility in the next version. I mean e.g. I have a table

    Raw 1 | Raw 2 | Raw 3 | Raw 4
    … | ….. | …. | ….

and I want to have a special form

    Raw1= <> Raw2= <> Raw3=<> Raw4=<>
where visitors (I need to have possibility to set which user role can add info) fill this information and admin should submit it and only than it will be added to Table.

    Looking forward to your response.
    Best regards,
    PaveL

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately, I have bad news here. Something like this is not possible with TablePress and most likely will not be in the future. TablePress simply is not a dynamic database plugin, but can “only” show static tabular data. It can only be edited in the admin area, but not from the frontend.
For your idea, you should look into a custom database/PHP solution.

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,
Thank you very much for the answer. I hoped it might be interesting for you to create this add-on.
Also I have another idea for your plagin. It will be great if admin will can set visability of table content (e.g. 1 of 4 rows) to different user roles. E.g. Unregistered user can’t see all content, but registered see all. What do you think about it?

    Hi,

no, sorry, this is also not really material for a TablePress Extension. It’s just too special and I don’t think that this would be useful for the average user.

Regarding your other suggestion: Something similar (not yet user roles, but at least logged-in users) is possible with the TablePress Extension that is described here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/hide-a-row-if-not-logged-in?replies=7

    Hi Tobias,

    One more question.
Is it possible to hide 1 column starting from second row? In this case unregistered users will see the possibility and the reson for registration.

    Thread Starter f.paulus

    (@fpaulus)

Or how to hide all rows besides first and second?

    Plugin Author TobiasBg

    (@tobiasbg)

    Hi,

hiding single cells is not possible, but you could hide everything below the second row. Just just something like

    [table id=123 hide_rows_logged_out="3-15" /]

and change the second number to the row number of your table’s last row.

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

I understood that second way is better for me, but there is a problem. I have many tables with diferent amount of rows. Is it possible to upgrade TablePress Extension to hide all rows below when we set “?” as second value:
    [table id=123 hide_rows_logged_out=”3-?” /]

    (@tobiasbg)

    Hi,

no, I’m sorry, I can’t really think of a way to make this possible at the moment, sorry ??

    Tobias

    Tobias,

If you will have time, please upgrade discribed above possibility.
Now I’ve solve the problem using
    [table id=123 hide_rows_logged_out=”3-100″ /]

    Hi,

I might indeed add something to the Extension in the future, but for now the manual change will have to do. Choosing a very large number might actually work just here.
