how to place image in page

I inserted an image in my page but can’t create space between the text and image. The image looks like it’s sitting ight on top of the text. it looks good in the editor but once I update it looks out of whack. Here is the other thing. When I inserted the image without a custom url it fit fine in the editor and the page. Once I added a custom link it still looked good in the editor but not on the page after it was updated. Thanks for the help.
