• How to populate my back-end with 150 template pages?

I have just made a single page with a basic template that I’m going to use for 150+ city-by-city pages. How can I fill my pages section of the back-end with 150 copies of that single page that I will rename with the city after the keyword.

    {keyword + city} page

I could not see a copy or download the page button unless I missed it.

if you followed these instructions, the page template will always be available for use in the add/edit page sidebar on right – there is a drop down for different templates installed

Yes ,I know where to use previous pages for new pages on the right side in the middle but I’m sure it only copies the template but not the page code.
I want to have plupper customer service and hellobar code on every page and then I guess I’d have to manually cut-and-paste their code in to every single new page ?????

I know I can pull the layout of an originating page but how can I use the plupper customer service html code and hellobar html code on every page without cutting and pasting it 150 times ?

No, probably not. Have you tried just putting the plupper and hellobar code in a new page template as Samuel has already suggested?

For example: Make a new page template (just copy the existing page.php) and rename it whatever_ you_want.php. Insert your code into the new template, and customize it to suit your needs.

Now you can just create a new page and apply your custom template that already contains the code you want to display.

Clayton, I made a city-by-city template page in my back-end and pasted the plupper and hellobar code into the HTML area.

Now, if I choose it from the originating pages drop down:-

“Select a page you would like to copy (link) the leafs from. Note: This will NOT copy the actual page content.”

…..won’t it just copy the layout but not the html code ?
Sorry if I’m not “getting it”.I’m just good at using GUI instructions not (horror of horrors ) raw code.

Is there also a smart way to generate 200 pages on the backend that I can rename that have my plupper/hellobar code in them ? I’m using headway theme as my skin.

Samuel or Clayton will this help me with my template task ?

A plug-in would be perfect for me to get my JS help icon /hellobar ,holding text and photos that I can overwrite with new page info! Help guys.
The original reference page just makes my head freeze.

    Bingo

I think I found what I’m looking for.

Good old wordpresss has a plug-in for everything.

    I like plug-ins.
Code is poetry ? Code gives me the horrors !

Ah ,no this plug-in just generates POSTS not pages.I need pages so the SEO URL is also generated from the page title.
    Bummer.
All the author had to do was give a drop-down menu with posts/pages template…

Anyone know of a PAGE template generator plug-in ?

Also is it better to put myplupper customer service and hellobar code in a footer so if I need to delete them I can pull the code from the entire site ?

    Yes ,I’m a newbie !

I’m afraid I am at a loss for an accurate answer. I’m sorry I don’t have more of an insight on how to help accomplish the task.
