Please forgive my ignorance. This is my first website. I am tring to create separate blog posts on separate pages off of my static home page. I have created the pages, created categories, and checked the box on the correct category, but all my posts are showing up under the same page. What I’m looking for is photo posts in the photography page, woodworking/luthery on that page, etc, but all are showing up under a page I titled “cobwebs from an empty skull” which is supposed to be a blog of random content.

  • Do you have a custom menu set up? You can then put category items in the menu. See:

Thanks WPyogi. I see my theme (F2) only supports 1 menu so that won’t work with this theme, but I think it might be the answer to what I’m looking for. I deleted the sub pages since it doesn’t look like I can post to each page separately. Now it looks like it’s time for theme shopping…

One menu can have MANY menu items – “menu” means the entire thing. No need to find another theme…

Got it! You rock, WPyogi! Thanks a million!

So for the next confused newbie:
Create a category for each type of blog you wish to write.
Create a menu. Call it “blogs” or whatever.
Add each category to the menu and save it.
In my theme, from my home page when I click on the “blogs” menu, tabs appear across the top where my sub pages used to appear, but now when I click on them, the coresponding blog posts appear under their appropriate tab.

    Right on! You’re welcome :).
