    Hi,
I have no need for ranking my site’s author(s) (actually as the webmaster I’m the only one to create content on this website, for my client). I do have a strong password, but due to security concerns I’d rather not let my username visible. Is there any way to prevent Yoast from generating author-sitemap ?
And by the way I can’t access Yoast sitemap xml files via FTP, is it normal ?

    Thanks for your help,
    Best regards.

You can disable author archives from the Yoast SEO -> Search Appearance -> Archives (tab) which will disable author archives and exclude author archives from the sitemap.

On the other hand, Yoast SEO generates an advanced XML sitemap on the fly. This means there won’t be any physical XML sitemap file located on the server that you can access using FTP.

    Hi,
I disabled already the author archives but I saw, that googlebot crawled the site /author/username.
    How is that possible?
    Thx for response.
