    Hi,
I assume you’re talking about a template that you’ve customized….if so, did you use the template saving function (under template options) that is there to save the template so it doesn’t get overwritten with an update…that was the purpose of providing that option since wordpress overwrites the files with each update.

Hello, for some reason the saving feature doesn’t work for me (neither the template or CSS was saved). Any idea what am I doing wrong?

When you say it doesn’t work…what exactly is happening…are you able to put in a name for you template and save it? Or are you saying you saved it but when you hit restore, it doesn’t restore the file?

Watch this movie and let me know where it doesn’t work.

Oh, I get it know. I am silly, I thought that the template would restore automatically (it would be nice if there was an option for that in settings). Thanks. ??

Well, that’s a good idea…I’ll add that as an option…thanks.

With all due respect, I disagree. I think putting too many settings options on dashboard(“click and play”) would make an otherwise wonderful plugin bloated. Especially for things like templates which are not frequently changed. Can we please try to keep it lean & lightweight?

On the next update, the template and css file that are stored will be automatically restored.

Hey, I just updated the plugin but even though I saved the template before upgrading and hit the restore button after that, my template was reverted to default settings so I had to upload it from a backup. Could you please tell me what else to do in case that I missed something?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
Ok…the way it works (which might not have worked correctly until the most recent version) is that you first make all the changes you want in the template and css file, then hit save. At this point, don’t change anything else in these files..if you do, you need to save them again.

Then, when a new update happens, these files should be restored automatically.

If that is exactly how you did this and it still didn’t save and restore (and you are sure you didn’t change anything after saving it), then there might be a bug in this feature..let me know.

Well, I’ll wait for the next upgrade and then I’ll let you know if this bug appears again.

Okay, it seems to work now. Now we need just the option for automatic restoring. ??

ok..I’ll add that back in the next update.
