• Hi guys,

I’m not new to wordpress, but something that happened lately was a pretty unpleasant surprise to me.
I’m using Elementor pro builder for creating websites. Everytime I’m creating a new page it’s somewhat better.
Unfortunately I’ve encountered a big issue since my websites become more attractive.
I’ve found out, that someone is stealing whole my pages created by Elementor and put the code on the other domain.
In short: they got exactly the same page (with their own payments buttons) on their domain.
Of course they are using my host, since most layout comes from my server.
People who do this, are simply stealing my hard work and pretending to be creator/owner of the website.
Is there any way to secure the website from such activity?
    Thank you
    Best regards
    Paul

  • Hi, have you tried reporting that site to the host? I would also look into CloudFlare ScrapeShield.

How to prevent stealing whole website?

Don’t host a website on the Internet?

You have to come to terms with the fact that if someone can load your site on their web browser then they have a copy of your content and they can do anything they like with it. That includes images.

That’s not an Elementor Pro issue or even a WordPress issue. If you like, you can try to ascertain who is hosting that site and ask the host provider to act. That may work but that’s not often enforceable. If the host provider complies, great. If not then that could get very prohibitively expensive both money and time wise for you to keep trying.

There are plugins that offer “copy protection” but honestly, they’re all snake oil. They do things like disable right click, some browser options etc. It doesn’t work for anyone who tries.

Try and focus on your content. Spend some time contacting hosts if you wish but don’t overdo it. That may work or the host may ignore you.

You can send a DMCA takedown request letter/email to the host and they will remove the content if you can prove it is yours https://www.dmca.com/faq/What-is-a-DMCA-Takedown
