how to produce post excerpt?

    I still cannot work out how to produce an excerpt from a post. The “more” tag doesn’t seem to have any effect when I place it in an entry.
    I tried the 3 different content settings, and the only one I can use so far is “Post Excerpt” – but only because it picks up content from the title! So I place a lot of content in the title which is a nuisance…

    Maybe the “slider content custom field” would work, but I don’t know how to add content to this setting?

    The setting “From Content” picks up far too much content, although I tried to restrict it by setting limits to the words, the characters or by adding the “more”tab.

    Please please help…

    We have tested that Pick content from post excerpt option work properly. You need to add your content in Excerpt section of post, before that please check your excerpt section is enable or not from Screen options of WP.

    Could you please also tell me how to change the words “Read more…” into German “weiterlesen…”?
    I tried it in the slider’s php but without result.

    Hi Susanne,

    We have provided a option to change text for “Read more”. Please go to Smooth Slider => Settings => Basic Settings => Miscellaneous => Continue Reading Text. Put your text, whichever you want and save changes.
