• hello i have recently been experiencing brute force attacks on my websites

i tried some plugins, but they are not of much help, since my site keeps getting hammered by request of login page.

    i tried this tutorial

    https://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/wordpress-login-brute-force-attack

and on Step 2: Update the .htaccess File

i have no idea what to do, i did exactly what it says, the authentication pop up shows up, but once u put the right credentials….it shows me the website homepage instead of the login form.

yes, i ask my hosting, and they said they wash their hands on the issue, its not their concern and i should hire a developer.
