    Hi all,

I’ve manged to turn Wordfence off for 2 administrator users and somehow managed to get us locked out.

So, I’ve found the place where I grant a grace period and done that. Next, I’ve gone to the 2FA page, obtained the six number code from my authenticator and clicked ‘activate’. When I do that, I get this error message

“The code provided does not match the expected value. Please verify that the time on your authenticator device is correct and that this server’s time is correct.”

I have no idea how to change the time setting for the server and the other thing I’d add is that before I locked me out, the authenticator codes worked just fine.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Hi @abowers3787,

    Thank you for reaching out.

If I understand correctly, you had deactivated 2FA and you’re now trying to reactivate it but you get an error. Let me know in case I got it wrong.

If that’s the case, please try the steps below:

    • Remove the entry for Wordfence in the authentication application.
    • Turn your phone or tablet fully off and on again.
    • Reload the Login Security >> Two-Factor Authentication page again to create a new QR code.
    • Try to set it up again.

Let me know how it goes.

      Thanks,
      Janet.
