How to Re-Install W3 Total Cache

    Hi I accidentally uninstalled and deleted the plugin but I want to put it back. But when I try now I get a repeated Installation Failed error message. I’m also getting this message on the top of my dashboard:
    ” files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/thesacr1/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/thesacr1/public_html/wp-content/db.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/thesacr1/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php.”

    The installation failure message says:
    “Installation failed: W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/thesacr1/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/thesacr1/public_html/wp-content/db.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/thesacr1/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php.{“success”:true,”data”:{“install”:”plugin”,”slug”:”w3-total-cache”,”pluginName”:”W3 Total Cache”,”activateUrl”:”https:\/\/thesacredsale.net\/wp-admin\/plugins.php?_wpnonce=d8a111eb4b&action=activate&plugin=w3-total-cache\/w3-total-cache.php”}}”

    How can I reinstall the plugin and get rid of the error messages?

    Hello

    • Flush all cache via WP admin bar
    • Go to General Settings of W3TC and disable all off the caching methods.
    • Go to plugin management page, then disable and remove the W3TC
    • Make sure there is no any W3TC lines in your htaccess file
    • Then remove /cache, /w3tc-config, advanced-cache.php, object-cache.php files if they’re exist. These folders/files are in /wp-content folder.
    • In your wp-config.php file, make sure there is no any line that is related to W3TC. For example: define('WP_CACHE', true); // Added by W3 Total Cache
    • That’s all. You’ll be able to install W3TC from scratch.

    First, thank you @serdarwork for your assistance.
    I would add to delete the db.php (if it exists) also.
    As define(‘WP_CACHE’, true); will be added after you re-install W3 Total Cache and it’s not directly related to your issue, it is not necessary to remove it from wp-config.php if not convenient.

    Ok, good to know. But how about wp-content/upgrade folder? Does that belong to this plugin?
