How to recover articles from database

  • A few days ago my site had an unfortunate crash & I had to repair the database. Unfortunately I have no idea what’s the origin of the problem. Connecting to my site suggested I had to repair the database.

    At this point, but most probably sooner, I discovered I had lost many blog posts. Which I could confirm with searches in Bing and reading the cached page of the search engine.

    – Assuming I have a backup containing the missing post, how can I import them, and only them, in the live database?
    – Assuming I don’t, I could reconstruct them from Bing’s cache. However I would like them to be published at the original date of the publishing, and not automatically appear on the main page as a newly published post. Is it possible? How?
