I just want to know if my authors will delete the tables then how will I get them back. Or is there any option so that authors will not be able to delete them.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

If someone deletes a table, it is gone – unless you have a backup of it, e.g. from exporting it to a file.

You can however disallow users of the “Author” (or any other) user role to delete tables, by striping them of the necessary access capability. For that, I suggest using the Role Manager component of the “Members” plugin from https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/members/
Then, remove the “tablepress_delete_tables” capability from the “Author” role. Those users will then not see the “Delete” link. (This does however not prevent them from deleting rows/columns or deleting the content of individual cells.)

    Regards,
    Tobias

This is really a big issue cause a bad author can destroy anyone’s site.

    Hi,

I agree, but if you don’t trust your Authors, they should not be Authors, or you should not give them these access rights.

    Regards,
    Tobias
