We have tinkered with the idea of adding this functionality, but found that in almost all cases, browser popup blockers were preventing the new tab from opening. As a result, this isn’t a supported use case at this time…I’m sorry for any trouble this might cause for your use case.

    Dear Zachary Skaggs

I understand – as it indeed like a popup. It might would be different, when it is a “standard” form action – eg similar when somebody has a button for Paypal or so would be different…

But it seems as WordPress in general not supporting this, or only by using the normal contact form 7.

    Is this so far correct?

My understanding of the issue at the moment is that we render and process the form with JavaScript. Because the JavaScript is what opens the tab, browsers block it as a potential malicious popup. So far, we’ve not found a really great workaround for this, but it’s something we’d like to solve in the long term. Unfortunately, it’s not prioritized in our short term scope at all.
