How to reduce the space of the text so its a free column space at right?

    I need to reduce the space of the text at the beggining of the site (the grey suare and also the header if its possible) so it looks like the bottom, where you have the right column of recent entries etc

    I am not a very sound technical person and I need help. Since morning my left hand side column has some additional spacing the content and ads are showing at the bottom.

    Could someone help me how to fix this issus?
