• I am setting up a new site and it is a very large project. I put pages (not posts) in with placeholder text (like “blah blah blah”) and placeholder images while I was waiting for the copy and images to be given to me.

This created a Smooth Slider that works and takes you to the placeholder pages. The slider images say things like, “blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah …
Read More” next to graphics that say, “Image coming soon”.

Now I have updated the pages with real content and the actual images, but the Smooth Slider does not update. I tried removing pages and re-adding them, but they come back in with the old copy and images. How do I make Smooth Slider update to the current content?

    Thanks,
    Kyle

  • Hello Kyle

    Thanks for writing to us.

There is no need to refresh because Smooth slider automatically fetch content from your added posts/pages immediately even though after posts or pages updated.

I would suggest you, if you are using any Cache plugin please clear your cache as well as browser cache and check again.

Let me know if it helps.
    Thank you for your patience.

    Best Regards,
    Sagar.

The problem is solved and you may find the solution interesting.

I do not have any caching installed on the new WordPress site yet. I tried other browsers and even other computers which had never visited the new site before and the Smooth Slider always showed the old content, even after the page was updated and the page was removed and re-entered into the slider.

I deleted the “Image coming soon” picture from the media library. On the next reload, the Smooth Slider was updated and showed the new copy and the new image. I suspect there is a caching mechanism that I do not have access to in either Smooth Slider or WordPress. Somewhere that old content was cached and deleting the one image forced it to update.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
