How to register on a site

Hi,

I’ve just taken over a new job as an ICT administrator and I have been asked to modify the school website. We are using Word Press and you need a username and password which I do not have so I have registered here and then tried to use that password and username but the site won’t recognise them.

Do I have to do something with our site to register me as a user?
