• I added a domain to my hosting account and
    installed WP

There were a bunch of funky issues with it
so, I just deleted everything – including the
    domain.

I added the domain again and am trying to
reinstall WP (via Fantastico) and keep
getting an error message… “can only
    install one in root…”

When will I ever learn that it’s faster
and easier to ask for help BEFORE ??

    Anyway, I’d appreciate some assistance
on fixing this so that I can get back
    in business ….

I closed all open tabs and cleared
    cache and cookies…

Do I just need to wait a couple of days?

Or, can I upload the WP blog template
through “files”… or, via File Zilla?

I know just enough to be dangerous and
not enough to be really adept.

I have set up data bases before and done
    the “5 minute installation”

I will greatly appreciate some assistance
    Thank you Karen

  • I would log in via ftp to make sure all the files are gone. Then I would log into my hosted account and make sure the db was gone.

Then I would use this, https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress rather than Fastastico as you will have more control.

kmessinger… thank you so much for your
    speedy rescue…

    I didn’t think about the db’s…. and
    now have a new challenge…

The hosting uses cpanel and addon domains…

I have no idea which db relates to which
site… could take an educated guess and
delete the last one, since I’ve not installed
any other WP following this screwed up one?

thank you many bunches for your help

If you are not sure database you can check wp-option table you will see the url in table 1 or 2

    Sorry…. I don’t understand???

wp-option table? where do I find this?

I did a google search and a site that came
    back read “https://www.yourblog.com/wp-admin/options.php”
    for finding the url.

I changed “yourblog” to my domain and
    didn’t get anywhere?

And, thank you so much for your help ??

You need to log n on server and click on phpmyadmin and there you will all the databases
