• Hi there,
    I’m currently working ona new wordpress powered site. I’m using the channing theme for the layout. It’s running fine, very stable apart from one problem, I need to remove the link in the top right entitled ‘about’ and replace it with a link to show ‘forum’ i’m not too sure how to do this as I can’t find the area to modify in the control panel. Has anyone ever modified this? I’m sure it will be easy for someone out there but i’m quite a new webmaster :-}

  • Hello

    In the wp-content/themes/your_theme_name folder look in the header.php file for this link.

    I am not sure if it is hard coded in there or if it is being pulled in from the database, but most likely that is where it is at.

    If you are unsure post the header.php code.

    I’ve written the ‘about’ information in the control panel of WP bu twhen the link is clicked on index.php it pulls up some different data – does anyone know how this is being generated and how the link can be removed?

    You’re making this too difficult.
    Go to:
    admin -> manage ->pages
    One will be titled “about”. Change the info to what you want by editing it. If you need to link to a forum not inside WP, simply hard code the link in the title bar and leave the post container empty.

    Thanks for the help, I’ve managed to change it using those methods.
