If you have FTP access to your Child Theme and can edit those files in some way, you should look for single.php and look in the there for the relevant code to remove.

You’re looking for div class="post-info">. Inside this div there will be a call to things like the_author(); and the_category();. Here you can remove or edit these items.

Be careful with these files, and if in doubt, make very small changes. Always back up your site before playing around.

Another option is to add this to the theme’s stylesheet file (appearance ? editor):
.post-info{display:none !important;}
