How to remove /category/ from URL?

Just want to know if it is possible to remove “/category/” from the url for categories?

Short answer: No, it is not possible. You can change it to anything you like, but you cannot remove it entirely.

Long answer: There’s several ways to do it, all of them have their drawbacks and break various parts of your blog. Google for “remove category base” and you’ll find hundreds of conflicting ways. The problem is a fundamental structure one, WordPress was simply not designed to do that sort of thing.

My own opinion: Nobody should ever need to remove the category base entirely. It’s pointless, and it doesn’t help with the mythical “SEO” one-bit. All it does is make things more difficult for no reason.
