How to remove dropdwon list from Search box

    Hi. I did a search and couldn’t find any solutions for my problem.

    The search box on top of my side bar is black and when clicked a drop-down list is shown with some weird options. This is not only visually ugly but also practically not usable.

    I have been struggling to change the black colour and get rid of the drop-down list with various means, but to no avail.

    Could anyone please help.
